Another musician/composer is honored in Stadtpark with the monument to Anton Bruckner, known mostly for his serene, powerful symphonies and masses. The base of the Anton Bruckner Statue was designed by Fritz Zerritsch; originally, a figure of Euterpe (the Muse of music) clung to the simple support.
Viktor Tilgner designed the bust that sits atop. Unfortunately, the work was vandalized several times, and the Muse was been removed, and the bust restored by Stefan Kameyczky. Located in Stadtpark, the monument is best visited in spring when the park's heart-shaped tulip beds are in full color.
