This “Goose Girl Fountain” (Gänsemädchenbrunnen) is now located at Rahlstiege 7 in the district of Mariahilf, Vienna. It was first erected in 1865 by Anton Paul Wagner in Vienna's Great Market, but was moved in 1879 to the Mariahilfer Church because of reconstruction activities and fire regulations.
It found its present site in 1886 after being displaced by another monument. Surrounded by a lovely railing, the bronze girl above guards and guides her geese, two of whom form the fountain's spouts into the pools below.
