Cycling in Vienna

Discover Vienna by Bicycle

Sometimes the best way to truly experience a city is by hitting the ground running, or biking! Bicycling around Vienna allows you to see the city up close and personal. You can choose a guided tour that takes you around the Danube river on a designated bicycle trail.  Perhaps you would like to take the “Ring-Rund-Radweg,” or the “Ring- Round- Bike Path” that borders Vienna’s old city.

Whatever path you choose, know that there are at least eight, themed bike paths. You can ride over bridges, around castles, along rivers, and nearly everywhere else in between when bike through Vienna.

Hiking with bicycle in Vienna’s Parks

Looking for an even more in depth view into the beauty that is Vienna’s landscape?  Well, you can hike and bike your way through the city.  Some folks enjoy traipsing along on their own, creating a path for themselves by exploring things off the beaten path.

Others prefer tried and true routes like those offered by the Sophienalpe, Hermannskogel, and Kahlenberg hills and mountains. Guided biking tours through the Vienna Woods, as well as the multitude of vineyards and cultural attractions throughout the city, provide even more reason to rent a bike and make sure your hiking boots are ready!
