Volksgarten Vienna is the perfect place for pedestrians to relax. The park was originally intended for use by the archdukes, but was open to the public in 1825 and named Volksgarten (People’s Garden in Vienna).
Located beside the Hofburg Palace and Heldenplatz buildings, the park is the ideal place to stretch your legs, enjoy the blossoming rose gardens, and allow the breathtaking fountains to calmly wash away the hustle and bustle of the city.
Volksgarten Vienna’s romantic scenery amazes tourists and serves as the perfect location for wedding photography. It is very likely that you will cross paths with a newly married couple as you walk through the park.
One of the best locations for photographs is in front of the Theseus Temple (Theseustempel), in the middle of the park.
Additionally, there are monuments and sculptures throughout the park where you can take pictures of celebrated historical heroes, such as Franz Grillparzer and Julius Rabb. And of course there is the unique scenic beauty surrounding the Empress Elizabeth Monument in the northern end of the park.
