Kursalon Vienna

Delight all of your Senses at this Historical Icon

For musical excellence and more, you'll want to take a trip to the Kursalon. This sublime music hall was designed by Johann Garben and built between 1865 and 1867. In 1857, Emperor Franz Josef I ordered the construction of the Ring Boulevard to expand the city. The Kursalon was where visitors would go to get mineral water to drink. But within a matter of years, Johann Strauss performed the Kursalon's first concert, and since then the venue became a place for concerts and meetings. Now the Kursalon has four ballrooms on two floors, a large terrace and a restaurant, with approximately 500 concerts a year and over 200,000 visitors.
