The Hundertwasser Village, designed by renowned artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, was built in 1990 and 1991. Before then, it was used as a car tire factory. The flood of visitors to see the nearby Hundertwasser house, whose inside is not open to visitors, led to the idea of making the area a wonderful place for guests.
The idea would be to design a unique place, in the inimitable Hunterwasser style, where visitors could get the wonderful experience indoors and outdoors.
More than two decades after its creation, a wonderful forest has grown on the roof of the house. About 30 trees reach around 15 meters high with many beautiful birds taking up residence.
The area is a real delight to gaze upon, and inside there are several lovely bars and souvenir shops. Around 1.2 million visitors admire Hundertwasser each year. Hundertwasser Village is open 365 days a year, and admission is 100% free.
