The Hundertwasser House, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and built from 1983-1985, is one of Austria’s architectural highlights and it draws visitors from around the world. The colorfully decorated outside of this Viennese house quickly draws attention to itself.
Those living in the house can decorate the area around their windows according to their own tastes and more than 200 trees and shrubs on the balconies and roof terraces beautify the building.
On the ground floor of the Hundertwasserhaus in the "Kunst und Café" coffee house, you can watch a movie where Friedensreich Hundertwasser himself leads you on a tour through the house.
The Hundertwasserhaus can only be viewed from the outside. However, across from the Hundertwasserhaus is the Hundertwasser Village, which is entirely open to visitors, and besides the incredible artistic design, there is a shopping center with a bar and several stores, all created in the famous Hundertwasser style.
