Tucked away in the side streets of Austria’s capital, lies a fantastic collection of intriguing and unusual objects at the Museum of Contraception and Abortion. Despite its relatively unimposing size, this unique museum has elicited intense mixed reactions.
The Museum of Contraception and Abortion is the brainchild of Dr. Christian Fiala, with the goal of raising awareness of contraception practices and post-abortion care. The museum takes you on an informational and historical tour of ancient contraception and abortion practices, including countless exhibits and displays to inform and often shock museum visitors.
The museum is open to visitors from Wednesday to Sunday. Visitors can explore the museum on their own or participate in a guided tour.
The Museum of Contraception and Abortion seeks to inform people about their reproductive health and rights. Sadly, the idea has not been embraced by many!
