The House of music Vienna (Haus der Musik) is an interactive sound museum that relates music in both artistic and scientific fashions. Since its opening in 2000, it has become a popular destination for both tourists and residents of Austria.
The museum was developed by four Austrian universities, two foreign universities, and a team of musicians, artists, music theorists and students. In 2002, the House of Music Vienna was awarded an Austrian Museum Prize.

The House of Music museum also has famous historical rooms of the late Otto Nicolai, the founder of the Vienna Philharmonic, who had actually lived in the same building. There are interactive exhibits that we recommend, such as the ‘Waltz-Dice Game’ and ‘The Virtual Conductor’, and a concert hall that simulates the fully authentic experience of the Viennese New Year’s concert and other live shows.
