The Albertina Museum in Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsoper) was the 1776 brainchild of Duke Albert of Saxony-Teschen, consisting of masterpieces from the 15th century all the way until present day. There are over 60,000 drawings and over one million prints.
The permanent art exhibitions feature the artistic genius of Claude Monet, Pierre-August Renoir and Edgar Degas. Some of the famous art pieces on rotating display are from Robert Rauschenberg, Gustav Klimt and Pablo Picasso.

There are 21 large, beautifully furnished staterooms and residential places where Empress Maria Theresia’s daughter, Maria Christine, and Karl, her adopted son, lived.
The staterooms are a shining green, yellow and turquoise, partly furnished with original furniture that will you take you back to the inhabitants‘ time. All throughout these two floors, you will be mesmerized by the elegance and splendor of everything from the furniture to the floors. Tours are available in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian.

The museum is open daily from 10AM-6PM (9PM on Wednesdays) and the price is €12.90 for adults and free for children (under 19), with assorted discounts for senior citizens, groups, etc.
