Spend unforgettable time by the calm body of water, enjoying about 500 row boats and electric and paddle boats, alongside other vacationers from around the world. The Old Danube was the first place where sailing regatta on Austrian waters took place, and the waters remain very popular among sailors. Check out the many outdoor pools, with their exceptional water quality, such as the ever-popular Gänsehäufel.

You won't be able to able to resist hours of relaxation at the gorgeous beach. And don't forget to enjoy the around forty restaurants, most located directly on the water, to dazzle your taste buds. In one of those restaurants, the Schinakl restaurant, you can actually rent out unique, ecological "swimming islands" with cozy sofas, tables, and sun terraces, and "dine on board" directly from the restaurant!

Some other things to consider when visiting the Old Danube: If you go on Mother's Day, all mother's receive a wonderful floral surprise when they rent a boat. Check out the Old Danube during recently extended hours, so you can enjoy a romantic moonlit boat ride with a lovely bottle of wine. And make sure to reserve a boat to enjoy the incredible Light Festival, replete with decorated boats, music, and fireworks.
