Phantasten Museum
A chronological art museum
Phantastenmuseun, opened in 2011, is an international museum filled with fantastic art. While walking through the museum, you will notice the development of Viennese fantasy through the artwork. There are more than 150 works of art on permanent display, by more than 120 artists. The art represents history from all different time periods. The exhibit includes artwork from post World War II to the present day.
Some of the fine artists whose work is displayed at Phantastenmuseum include Ernst Fuchs, Arik Brauer, Rudolf Hausnr, Wolfgang Hutter, Fritz Janschka, and many others. All of these artists have strongly influenced modern artists. The permanent exhibit is designed for visitors to walk through chronologically, allowing one to notice the development of the fantastic art. All of the masterpieces in the museum were donated by collectors and artists.
