Prepare yourself to witness religious prayers with beauty and harmony the likes of which you've never experienced before. The Hofburg Chapel is the oldest part of the Imperial Palace. The highlight of visiting this magnificent site is attending High Mass, which takes place on Sundays and religious holidays.
The service is performed by the flawless and breathtakingly beautiful vocals of the Hofmusikkapelle, otherwise known as the Court Music Orchestra. Officially founded in 1498, they are one of the oldest and most distinguished musical institutions in Europe and have continued strong with barely any interruption to this very day.
The Hofmusikkapelle consists of the Vienna Boys’ Choir and members of the orchestra and choir of the Vienna State Opera, the Vienna Philharmonic, and others. It's impossible not be impressed and awed by the sweet voices of the Boys' Choir together with some of the most talented musicians in Vienna. A trip to Vienna is incomplete without it!
