Emperor Franz Monument Burggarten

Celebrate this Powerful Leader in Full Military Garb

Another work that originally stood elsewhere is the Emperor Franz Monument Burggarten, now found in Burggarten. This Austro-Hungarian Emperor made powerful decisions in a reign just short of sixty-eight years. His likeness first graced a barracks in a small town nearby, and was moved in 1957 after the ruler's death.

It's a special and quiet work that is graced by Josef's private gardens, contrasting the figure's military garb. The bronze stand was fashioned by Josef Tuch and topped by the statue carved by Johann Benk in 1904.
